CJP Vows To Continue Protest Despite Sonam Wangchuk Ending Hunger Strike

New Delhi: Sonam Wangchuk broke her hunger strike after 26 days. But Cockroach Janata Party i.e. CJP says that their protest is not over yet. Party founder Abhijeet Dipke clearly said that their peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar will continue till the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. 

What did Abhijeet Deepke say?

Abhijit Dipke welcomed Sonam Wangchuk's end of her fast on social media platforms. He said that this 26-day long struggle has drawn the attention of the entire country towards the flaws in the examination system. Praising Wangchuk's courage and sacrifice, he said that his step has become an inspiration for students across the country.

Will the movement still continue?

Dipke clarified that Wangchuk ending his fast does not mean the end of the movement. He said that CJP's ongoing peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar will continue until accountability is fixed in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post.

Why did Sonam Wangchuk end her fast?

Wangchuk ended his fast late on Thursday night at Gurugram's Medanta Hospital in the presence of Union Minister JP Nadda, Jitendra Singh and leaders of the Leh-Ladakh apex body. He said that this decision was taken after several rounds of talks with the government. Also, in view of the possibility of tension in the country, he appealed to everyone to maintain a peaceful environment.

Were MPs also appealed to end the fast?

Wangchuk said that 65 MPs from different political parties had met him or written letters requesting him to end the fast. He said that after the talks, some positive steps have been taken towards a solution, but he will soon share the details of the entire incident through a separate video.

Why did the movement intensify after July 20?

CJP's agitation further intensified during the Parliament march on 20 July. There were clashes between police and protesters during the demonstration. Since then, protests have continued at Jantar Mantar. Keeping in view the security arrangements, the administration has deployed additional police forces in the surrounding areas. Besides, temporary ban on internet services and impact on business activities were also seen in some areas.
