The main objective of the attack, known as Operation Sindoor, was to destroy the jihadi infrastructure of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba, two terrorist groups that have been responsible for several major attacks on Indian soil in the last three decades.
