Rajasthan Leads India With 1,192 km Of Completed Expressways: Nitin Gadkari
According to state-wise data provided by the ministry, Rajasthan leads the completed length of high-speed corridors at 1,192 km out of a total awarded 1,340 km.
New Delhi: Rajasthan has achieved a significant milestone in road construction. It leads the nation in the number of high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways constructed. To date, 1,192 kilometers of expressways have been constructed in Rajasthan.
What did Nitin Gadkari say?
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari provided this information in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. The expansion of the expressway network in Rajasthan is considered a major achievement in the state's road infrastructure.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in a written reply, which was submitted by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Lok Sabha, said "Government has established a framework for regular review of the progress of all on-going National Highway works including National High-Speed Corridors and Greenfield Expressways."
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed his gratitude to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for this achievement in the state's road infrastructure.
About 25 per cent of high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways in Rajasthan
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari informed the House that a total of 10,389 kilometers of high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways have been approved across the country. Of these, 4,809 kilometers have been completed. Of these, 1,192 kilometers of expressways have been completed in Rajasthan alone.
Thus, Rajasthan is on the top in the country in the construction of national high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways. Thus, approximately 25 per cent of the high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways constructed across the country now pass through Rajasthan.
Rajasthan's big boost from the expressway
The expansion of the expressway has strengthened connectivity between different parts of Rajasthan. The high-speed corridors built in the state have reduced long-distance travel time and improved road connectivity between major cities, industrial areas, border areas and other states.
According to the government, high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways are playing a vital role in boosting Rajasthan's economy, trade, tourism and industrial development.
