Heavy rain lashes parts of Rajasthan; Orange Alert Issued For Several Districts

Jaipur: With the re-activation of southwest monsoons, the rainfall has been observed in various parts of the Rajasthan state in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, with heavy rains in the east parts of the state.

What did the IMD say?

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rains in several regions, strong wind and thunder in some regions for the next four days.

The India Meteorological Department has reported that "heavy to very heavy rainfall" has been received at the scattered areas in eastern parts of the state in the past 24 hours. At a few centres in the west, there was light to moderate rainfall as well. Chhipa Barod and Baran got the highest precipitations, 14cm.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for four districts on Wednesday, while the remaining districts are under a yellow alert.

What about other districts?

Likewise, Tonk (Uniara), Jhalawar (Khanpur) received 9 centimetres of rainwater, Talera (Bundi) and Alwar (Amet) got seven centimetres of rainfall and some areas got five centimetres of rain water like Kotputli (Jaipur), Ladpura (Kota), Atru (Baran), Mandal (Bhilwara) and Bansur (Alwar). The rainfall of one to five cm was received in several districts namely Bharatpur, Pali, Jodhpur, Hanumangarh and Bikaner.

The Meteorological Centre, Jaipur has predicted that monsoon will continue in the state till July 25 during which time many districts of the state will receive heavy rains.
