Maharashtra Bandh Today In Support Of Students: Will Schools, Transport And Services Remain Closed?

Mumbai: The ongoing protests bu the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and students in the national capital over the NEET paper leak have now spread to various states across the country. Following students protest on Wednesday in Bihar's Patna, a shutdown has been called in Maharashtra in support of the students.
Who has called a Maharashtra Bandh?
Prakash Ambedkar, head of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) and grandson of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, has called for a Maharashtra shutdown on Thursday. The state government is fully alert to this shutdown and has issued necessary instructions to security agencies to maintain law and order.
The grandson of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar in a press conference said that left-wing political parties, educational institutions and coaching centers have supported the bandh.

What will remain open?
Some shops and markets may remain closed in few areas in support of the shutdown. However, essential services will remain operational during this time. However, if protests happen, traffic disruptions and road blockages may occur.
